Costa Rica Introduces Two-Way Net Metered Energy Systems for Homes
The two-way net-metering pilot program launched by the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) on Monday, and discussed in this week’s issue, is hardly groundbreaking from a global perspective, but it’s a logical and commendable start for Costa Rica. The initiative, which allows homes and business to generate their own renewable energy and receive credits for the excess that they return to the national grid, is an economically sound, environmentally healthy idea that will prove advantageous to the country and its residents.
Power of choice: Americans should shrug off their
gangstermonopolized energy options and follow suit. There actually isnt an “energy crisis” in the world today, rather, a crisis of who controls what options one has available, at the expense of the many.
Someone said to me that it’s not possible to have solar panels in NY. They also said solar backpacks were unfashionable. I say, stupidity was so Dark Ages.
